At today's Kick-Ass 2 panel, director Jeff Wadlow and the cast of the film debuted a brand new red band trailer. There's a lot of new footage, most of it centering on The Motherfucker (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) assembling his own team of villains to battle the good guys in Justice Forever. We also see more of the relationship between Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz). The main thing I took away from the presentation is that Johnson has really bulked up for the role, dwarfing practically everyone else.
PLOT: In the sequel, after Kick-Ass' insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes, our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist—reborn as The Mother F%&*^r—only the blade-wielding Hit Girl can prevent their annihilation.
Kick-Ass 2 opens on August 16th.
