Vin Diesel, Katee Sackhoff, and director David Twohy just left the Hall H floor at Comic-Con, where they debuted a new red band trailer for Riddick. The film has the Furyan stranded on a desolate planet populated by savage creatures Riddick has never seen. The footage makes the film look more like an isolated horror/thriller in the vein of Aliens, with Riddick and the bounty hunters who want to kill him pooling their resources to fight off a monster attack.
There's some pretty gruesome violence here, but the effects still look a little spotty, and we still haven't really seen any of Karl Urban, who is supposed to be reprising his role as Lord Vaako.
Diesel chatted up his close relationship to the Riddick fans who have been supporting him since Pitch Black. But what's likely to get the most attention was his again hinting at a major Marvel announcement coming soon.
Riddick hits theaters on September 6th.
