Juno Temple Joining Carey Mulligan in 'Far From the Madding Crowd'

As Dogme 95 founder Thomas Vinterberg's The Hunt hits art house theaters today with a bigger rollout to follow, the Danish filmmaker is already developing his follow-up. He's lined up Carey Mulligan to star in an adaptation of Thomas Hardys 19th century classic, Far From the Madding Crowd, and now he's found her a red hot co-star in Juno Temple.

The indie darling has already worked with the likes of Christopher Nolan, Gregg Araki, Robert Rodriguez, and Noah Baumbach, so she should be more than capable of handling Vinterberg's grueling process, which he developed alongside Lars von Trier. The story centers on the beautiful Bathsheba Everdene (Mulligan), who is courted by three very different men: Gabriel, a gentle shepherd; William Boldwood, a wealthy farmer; and Frank Troy, a dashing soldier.

If everything is worked out, Temple would be taking on the role of Fanny Robin, Troy's servant and possibly his true love. Matthias Schoenaerts (Rust and Bone) has apparently accepted an earlier offer to play Gabriel, while Matthew Goode may have turned down the part of Troy.

Vinterberg hopes to begin filming in September, and hopefully it'll be ready by the festival run early next year. [DailyMail]
