New Posters for '300: Rise of an Empire', 'The Lego Movie', and 'Seventh Son'

Seeing as how I'm about five seconds from boarding a plane to Comic-Con, here are a few posters for the annual geek festival that are pretty cool.

The first is a new one-sheet for Noam Murro's 300: Rise of an Empire, featuring Jack O'Connell in a bloody rage as Calisto. Starring Lena Headey, Eva Green, Rodrigo Santoro, and Sullivan Stapleton, the film opens next year on March 7th 2014.

PLOT: Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel Xerxes and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. “300: Rise of an Empire” pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemesia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

A new character poster for The Lego Movie teases us with the lead character Emmett (Chris Pratt), a regular Lego who is mistaken for a Master Builder and must go on a wild adventure to save the universe. Along the way he'll run into the likes of Superman, Batman, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and more who would fit right in on the Comic-Con showfloor. Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, The Lego Movie comes together on February 7th 2014.

And lastly, Antje Traue has gone from playing the evil Kryptonian Faora in Man of Steel to dabbling in the supernatural arts in Seventh Son. What her role is remains a mystery, at least to me, but I bet she's bad ass and hopefully kicks the crap out of Jeff Bridges and Ben Barnes. Directed by Sergei Bodrov and based on the novels of Joseph Delaney, Seventh Son centers on the young apprentice to a magical Spook, who must learn to use his powers to fight evil. Co-starring Julianne Moore, Alicia Vikander, Kit Harington, Djimon Hounsou, and Olivia Williams, look for the film to hit January 17th 2014.
