'Twilight' Star Mackenzie Foy and Ellen Burstyn Join Christopher Nolan's 'Interstellar'

Christopher Nolan is putting the finishing touches on the cast of his upcoming sci-fi film, Interstellar, and so far it's been pretty...well, stellar. With Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Michael Caine, Timothee Chalamet (Homeland), and Bill Irwin (Rachel Getting Married) already on board, Nolan is now adding a renowned screen veteran and a young actress who knows her way around big time films as part of the Twilight franchise. No, it's not Kristen Stewart.

Ellen Burstyn and Mackenzie Foy have joined the Interstellar crew in roles that are being kept locked tight just like the film's plot. What we know is that it's based on an original idea by Jonathan Nolan, merged with one of Christopher's ideas and given a technical touch-up by physicist Kip Thorne. What little we know has the story centering on a group of scientists on a heroic voyage, journeying through a wormhole and into another dimension. Foy recently played Renesmee in the final two Twilight movies, and will be seen in James Wan's The Conjuring later this week. Burstyn's more than 50-year career has had her appearing in everything from The Last Picture Show to The Exorcist, and will be seen in Kevin Costner's football comedy, Draft Day.

Interstellar opens on November 7th 2014. [TheWrap]
