Trailer and Poster for Fantastic Fest Award-Winner 'I Declare War'
War is Hell, even when it's a simple game of Capture the Flag. Taking home the Audience Award at Fantastic Fest, Jason Lapeyre and Robert Wilson's I Declare War follows a group of 12-year-old kids engaged in a spirited game of Capture the Flag, only for their imaginations and natural adolescent behavior to start blurring the lines between reality and make-believe. The film has received glowing reviews, with frequent comparisons to Stand By Me, which is why Drafthouse Films are looking to give the film a fairly significant multi-platform release starting in just a couple of weeks.
The new trailer and poster have been released, and judging solely on this because I haven't seen the film yet, it looks like what you'd get if Son of Rambow was crossed with Lord of the Flies and Battle Royale, and that's a combination I definitely want to see play out. I Declare War hits VOD on July 26th, before getting a limited theatrical release on August 30th.
