Watch the Latest Depraved Red Band Trailer for 'Filth' Starring James McAvoy

Controversial. Insane. Dirty. Wild. Obscene. Psychotic. Warped. Probably not how most would want to have their film labeled, but the adaptation of Irvine Welsh's Filth wears its depravity like a badge of honor. After dropping a new quad poster riddled with glowing superlatives, the latest red band trailer has been released which shows the disturbing levels of political incorrectness the film is more than happy to sink to.

In another dramatic change of pace for James McAvoy, he plays sex-obsessed, racist, and drug-fueled cop Bruce Robertson, who spends more time indulging his baser instincts than solving any cases, which makes it tough to get that promotion he's fighting for. The pacing of the footage is maniacally frenetic, almost too fast to get a grip on what's going on, which may be exactly what director Jon S. Baird is going for to keep us off-balance. The supporting cast is excellent with Imogen Poots, Eddie Marsan, Jim Broadbent, and Jamie Bell co-starring, and the whole thing looks like a Martin McDonagh film pumped up on steroids.

Filth opens in the UK this September, but has yet to gain a U.S. date.
