Alex Pettyfer and Rachel Hurd-Wood Considered for Roles in 'Star Wars: Episode VII'

There are likely to be dozens of supposed casting stories for Star Wars: Episode VII before anyone is actually signed, and really many of them have already been bouncing around. So what makes this one any different? Well, one involves a current Hollywood bad boy/heartthrob, and the other comes with some degree of confirmation.

Latino Review (gauge believability accordingly) reports that Magic Mike and I Am Number Four star Alex Pettyfer is meeting for an unspecified role, but the assumption is that it would be for Luke Skywalker's son. The other half of the story has Peter Pan and Perfume star Rachel Hurd-Wood having already read for the part of Princess Leia's daughter, with other actresses due to meet for it soon. In this case, the site says they got their info "confirmed via representation", meaning that they presumably spoke to her agent or something like that.

They pile on, perhaps to try and lend credibility to the story, that other "major casting news" is expected from Lucasfilm "very soon", which is like saying morning should be here tomorrow. So until we get something concrete, feast on the thought of that kid from Beastly as a Jedi Knight.  Star Wars: Episode VII is expected to open in 2015, directed by J.J. Abrams.
