Rachel McAdams Joins 'Every Thing Will Be Fine'; Hayley Atwell in 'Cinderella'; Scott Wiper Directs 'Act of Valor 2'

* Rachel McAdams has joined James Franco, Charlotte Rampling, and Marie-Josée Croze in Every Thing Will Be Fine, the next film from Academy Award-winning director Wim Wenders. After the success he had with 3D in the gorgeous documentary Pina, Wenders will now employ it for the smallscale drama, about a writer named Tomas (Franco), whose personal and professional life spiral out of control after he's involved in a car accident that kills a young boy. McAdams will play the girlfriend, taking on the role once occupied by Sarah Polley before she dropped out. [THR]

* Best known at this point for playing Peggy Carter in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Hayley Atwell is now moving to another major Disney project. Today she tweeted her involvement in Kenneth Branagh's Cinderella, although her role remains unclear. Lily James has the title role, with Cate Blanchett as the evil stepmother, Helena Bonham Carter as the fairy stepmother, Richard Madden as the prince, and the wicked stepsisters played by Holliday Grainger and Sophie McShera. Cinderella opens on March 13th 2015.

* I know a lot of people dug it, but I thought the Navy SEAL flick Act of Valor was a total joke, a military recruitment ad disguised as a Hollywood film. The irony being that its claim-to-fame was how "real" it was, using active duty SEALs for the major roles, but it was no less stagey than any other film in the genre. It still did mighty business at the box office, earning roughly $80M unexpectedly, and now a sequel is on the way. Directing duo Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh will slip into a producer capacity, while Scott Wiper will helm the picture. Wiper is best known for working with the WWE on cinematic gems The Marine 3: Homefront and The Condemned. Actually, The Condemned is pretty good in the same way that Bloodsport is "good". No word on if they're planning to use active duty soldiers again.
