Michael Fassbender Goes Gangster in 'Trespass Against Us'
Audiences may not have taken to Michael Fassbender in The Counselor (although I certainly did), it hasn't slowed his momentum in the least. He's got the showiest role in Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave, a film many expect to take home Best Picture in a few months, and he'll be back as Magneto in X-men: Days of Future Past. He's currently filming the western Slow West, which will be followed by an update on Macbeth, and let's not forget about that Assassin's Creed movie. As if that wasn't enough, Fassy (because we're cool like that) is adding one more project to his slate, one that let's him get all gangster-style.
Fassbender will star in Tresspass Against Us, a gangster film marking the feature debut of U.K. director Adam Smith, known mostly for his work on Doctor Who. Written by Alastaire Siddons, the story follows three generations of the Cutler crime family, whose outlaw lifestyle leads to frequent clashes with the police. Fasssbender will play Chad Cutler who defies years of family tradition by looking for a way out of the business.
In a major coup, The Chemical Brothers will be providing the original score, likely because they worked with Smith on their concert movie, The Chemical Brothers: Don't Think. Filming is set to begin in 2014. [Variety]
