There wasn't a lot of buzz for Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes when it premiered at Sundance earlier this year, and it's probably safe to say some of it had to do with that terrible title. Fortunately it's been given a new, easily marketable one in The Truth About Emanuel, and now the Jessica Biel, Kaya Scodelario-led thriller has a trailer to go along with it.
Directed by Francesa Gregorini (Tanner Hall), the film centers on a troubled 17-year-old girl who becomes obsessed with her new neighbor Linda who bears a striking resemblance to her late mother. When Emanuel agrees to babysit her neighbor's daughter, she discovers the child is really just a life-life doll. Yeah, it sounds weird and the trailer is pretty surreal, so maybe the less than enthusiastic early reviews are mistaken?
The Truth About Emanuel hits VOD on November 26th, then opens in theaters January 10th.
