Brie Larson Finds 'The Good Luck of Right Now'

Now that she's proven what a knock out she can be in last year's breakout hit, Short Term 12 (she should have been an Oscar nominee, frankly), Brie Larson is suddenly on every studio's radar. Forget that she lost out on the Sarah Conner role in Terminator: Genesis, because she just landed a leading role in a project that sounds far more interesting.

The Wrap reports Larson is in talks for The Good Luck of Right Now, which has a ton of talent behind it already. The film is based on the upcoming book by Silver Linings Playbook author, Matthew Quick, and will be directed by Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton, the duo behind Little Miss Sunshine and Ruby Sparks. Mike White (School of Rock) will pen the screenplay which follows 38-year-old Bartholomew Neil, who has no idea how to function after his mother, an obsessive Richard Gere fan, gets sick and dies. With the help of his red-headed counselor, a struggling priest, a a shy female librarian aka the "Girlbrarian", her foul-mouthed brother, and the spirit of Gere himself, Neil goes on a wild road trip to Canada and embarks on a journey of self-discovery.

Larson will play the librarian who thinks she was once abducted by aliens, but falls in love with the quirky Neil. Considering how the last Quick adaptation fared it's no surprise Dreamworks sees this as a priority project.
