Daniel Radcliffe and Dane DeHaan are 'College Republicans' for John Krokidas

After a mostly positive premiere at last year's Sundance Film Festival, the Beat Generation film Kill Your Darlings largely came and went upon its theatrical release. That's despite a fantastic young cast that included Dane DeHaan and Daniel Radcliffe as two of our greatest writers, and a strong directorial debut from John Krokidas. The three of them must have gotten along pretty well, because they're about to reteam on another film about real life figures.

According to The Wrap, Radcliffe and DeHaan are set to play Lee Atwater and Karl Rove in College Republicans, which Krokidas would direct from a Wes Jones script. Based on true events in 1973, "the story finds aspiring politician Karl Rove (DeHaan) running a dirty campaign for national College Republican Chairman under the guidance of campaign manager Lee Atwater (Radcliffe). The duo take a spirited road trip to drum up support for Rove’s candidacy.” Obviously, when dealing with two of the most prominent figures in modern political history this one could be very controversial, and Rove has been known to hold grudges. Hopefully none of these guys end up on his bad side.

Anyway, Radcliffe's reps are denying the story, and there has been no confirmation from DeHaan's people. But with this level of talent and very provocative material, this should be a film worth keeping a close watch on.
