Final 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' Trailer and IMAX Poster, Plus a Major Event Teased in New One-Sheet

The phrase "marketing overkill" will never be heard in the halls of Sony Pictures. Practically giving away The Amazing Spider-Man 2 at this point hasn't stopped them from releasing just one more trailer, in case there's still someone out there who is on the fence about seeing it. And if there is someone on the fence, what's the problem? Electro's face not blue enough? Don't like the Rhino's suit?

More importantly, they also revealed two posters, one of which is a rather inspiring IMAX image from artist Matt Taylor, showing the wallcrawling hero soaring over the Manhattan streets.

The other image, however, will probably put a lump in the throats of long-time Spider-Man fans. It's a recreation of issue #121 of the original Spider-Man comic, and those who've read it know that's the issue Gwen Stacy meets her death at the hands of the Green Goblin. The speculation has been that Emma Stone's character would get killed off, and there are plenty of photos of her in the same outfit Stacy wore when she perished, but does this poster seal the deal?

My gut tells me Marc Webb is trying too hard to sell us on Gwen Stacy's death and to expect a huge swerve. Maybe Aunt May will eat it instead? The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens May 23rd, and frankly it can't get here soon enough. I want this movie to go away now.
