First Look at Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Philippe Petit in 'The Walk'

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has taken on a number of complex characters but none will have him walking the high-wire, both literally and figuratively, quite like playing Philippe Petit's in Robert Zemeckis' next film. Once titled To Reach the Clouds due to it being an adaptation of Petit's memoir, it has since been retitled The Walk, and now we have the first look at Gordon-Levitt on set courtesy of his Facebook page.

The image shows Gordon-Levitt having some selfie fun with co-star Charlotte Le Bon on the Montreal set. Petit's story has been told on screen before in James Marsh's excellent documentary Man on Wire (highly recommended!!), which recounted his incredible high-wire walk between the World Trade Center towers in 1974, what some call "the artistic crime of the century".
