Scarlett Johansson Uses Her Brain in 'Lucy' Red Band Clip

One of the cooler things about Scarlett Johansson's performance as Black Widow is that she's playing one of the few Avengers without any powers. She has to rely on other skills to get by, and by extension Johansson has to be more subtle than most of her co-stars who have all sorts of CGI fireworks accompanying them. But in Luc Besson's new action flick, Lucy, Johansson will have all the superpowers she can handle and some kickass guns, too.

Basically resembling a sci-fi La Femme Nikita, Lucy has Johansson as a drug mule who gains extraordinary abilities after she absorbs the substance into her system. It allows her to use more than 10% of her brain and as the capacity grows, so do her powers, which she uses to exact bloody revenge on those who held her captive.

A return to form for Luc Besson or just another high-profile dud? We'll find out when Lucy opens on July 25th.
