Quicksilver Re-Confirmed for 'X-men: Apocalypse'; Teased for a Solo Film
Bryan Singer's X-men: Days of Future Past was pretty grim, which may be why Evan Peters' dash (literally) of fun and humor as Quicksilver stood out so much. Everybody loved the character and wished he had a bigger role throughout, but fortunately we haven't seen the last of the speedster mutant. Although screenwriter Simon Kinberg confirmed Quicksilver would be back for 2016's X-men: Apocalypse, second unit director Brian Smrz tells Newsarama he'll begin work on his scene soon...
"They want me to start pretty soon, on the storyboarding and stuff. I’ll be working on the next X-Men for the next month or so part-time, and by the end of the year it’ll be full-time... There will be another Quicksilver scene, which I'm looking forward to. That'll be fun."
Smrz had a lot to do with Quicksilver's awesome slow-motion kitchen scene, and he would love an opportunity to do more, possibly in a solo film...
"We talked about Quicksilver before. I'd love to do a Quicksilver as a solo film because there's a lot to enjoy with that character."
What do you think? Is a Quicksilver solo film a good idea? Or is he better off in small doses? X-men: Apocalypse opens May 27th 2016.
