Still reeling from the conclusion of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay? Tough, because another all-powerful teen in a dystopian future society has a world to save, and you need to be there to watch her do it. Divergent wasn't the massive hit some were expecting it to be (The Maze Runner fared better, surprisingly), but with Shailene Woodley and Kate Winslet heading up a strong cast the franchise's future is looking up, and it all continues with The Divergent Series: Insurgent.
After a teaser debuted last week the first full trailer has been released and it lays out the story of Tris' battle with Jeanine Matthews (Winslet) in action-packed fashion. The factions are more divided than ever after the events of the last film, with Tris, Four (Theo James), and others deemed "divergent" on the run from her terrible wrath. Some major story beats are given away here that probably should have been left out, but overall this looks like a step up from Divergent. It doesn't hurt that Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer have joined the cast, as well.
Directed by Robert Schwentke, The Divergent Series: Insurgent opens March 20th.
