Kick-Ass Busts Through the Lionsgate!
Was there ever any doubt? Lionsgate has officially bought all the domestic rights to Mark Millar's uber-violent action flick, Kick-Ass. The film is based off Millar's graphic comic about a boy who decides to become a street superhero, despite the fact he has no powers or fighting ability of any sort. The comic is drawn by legendary penciler, John Romita Jr. The film had been independently financed up to this point and had been looking for a major distributor for the film. The deal was imminent after a rousing presentation that had fanboys and the internet raving.
No word on an exact release date, but Lionsgate has committed to a wide release some time in 2010. Congrats to Mark Millar!
