Set Photos from The Losers!

If you never read the The Losers series from DC's Vertigo imprint, do yourself a favor and pick up a couple trade paperbacks. It's one of the most exciting, action packed books you'll ever read. The book as well as the film revolve a Special Forces unit, serving in the "war on terror", who find themselves betrayed and left for dead by their handler, Max. The remaining soldiers take it upon themselves to exact brutal, deadly revenge on their former employer, the CIA by sabotaging their interests throughout the world.

The reason why I'm hyped for the film isn't just the source material, but the people working on it. Peter Berg, who knows a thing or two about action movies, co-wrote the script. Attatched to play the leads are Jeffrey Dean Morgan(Watchmen), Idris Elba(The Wire, Rocknrolla), Columbus Short(Stomp the Yard), and Zoe Saldana(Star Trek). I'm not as sold on Sylvain White handling the directorial duties, simply because I felt his Stomp the Yard was a bit shaky in it's look. But whatever. A few shots from the set have finally been released. They aren't much, but it's enough to whet my appetite.

The Losers is set to drop on April 16, 2010.
