Trailer Time: The Skin I Live In, from Pedro Almodovar

I'm at a complete loss when it comes to Almodovar's strange new film, The Skin I Live In, which sees him back together with Antonio Banderas for the first time in more than a decade. The reason why I'm so confused is that the film is an oddball blend of horror, revenge flick, and the telenovella style which Almodovar is so famous for.

Based loosely on Thierry Jacque's book, Tarantula, Almodovar plays a plastic surgeon obsessed with discovering a new skin after his wife is burned in a terrible crash. Coming up with a synthetic skin that he thinks will do the trick, all he needs is a guinea pig to test it out. The film premiered at Cannes a couple of months ago to lukewarm response, but are you really going to doubt the combination of Almodovar and Banderas? I don't care how weird or disturbing the whole thing looks, I'm anxiously awaiting it's release on October 14th. Check out the new trailer below...
