Trailer Time: 'Snabba Cash II', starring Joel Kinnaman

2010's Snabba Cash(aka Easy Money) proved to be a huge breakout for it's star, Joel Kinnaman, and Swedish filmmaker Daniel Espinosa. The stylish crime flick was a hit of the festival season that year, leading to Kinnaman receiving a number of offers here in the United States. Not only is he starring in AMC's TV series, The Killing, but he has a minor role in David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Not to mention his name has popped up for numerous other high profile gigs.

With The Weinstein Company quickly snatching up the rights to distribute Snabba Cash here in the States, and Warner Brothers prepping a remake, Espinosa has become Hollywood's new directorial darling. His first English language film, Safe House, landed Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds as the leads and has proven to be a hit at the box office. Kinnaman turns up in that film as well, in a bone crunching brawl with Reynolds.

Based on the Stockholm Noir novels by Jens Lapidus, Snabba Cash was just the first part of a planned trilogy, and the trailer for the sequel has just been released. Espinosa is in a producer capacity this time, with Babak Najfafi at the helm. The first film focused on JW(Kinnaman), a guy who becomes enticed into the world of crime to help support his jet setting lifestyle. His ventures into the Stockholm criminal underworld eventually see his life intertwined in a bad way with an escaped Chilean convict, and also a mob hitman looking to clean up his act.

Since Snabba Cash will be released here on July 27th, it might be in your best interests to skip this trailer, since it obviously reveals JW's current predicament. However, those who've already experienced Espinosa's great film will find this one looking equally thrilling. I haven't really been a fan of anything Kinnaman has done over here, but Snabba Cash showed me he's an actor to definitely watch out for. If you're ok with having Snabba Cash spoiled a little bit, check out the trailer for the sequel below....[ThePlaylist]
