It's funny how things change. Back in 1999 when American Pie reinvigorated the teen sex comedy, it did so with a raunch and spirit that reminded us of the Porky's style movies of the 70s and 80s. While the franchise diluted itself over the years with bad DVD spinoffs, the gang is getting back together again for American Reunion. Looking much older and less vigorous, the franchise now looks like it belongs in the Judd Apatow family.
That said, the latest trailer for American Reunion may be the best so far, as it takes something of a step back from trying to look just like the other 'Pie' movies, and shows these characters as they are now. Time has passed, life has intervened, and they are all different in some ways than they were as randy teenagers. Some, like Stifler(Seann William Scott) are less changed than others, especially as he lodges his own version of a sit down protest against some hot shot youngster.
Jason Biggs, Chris Klein, Alyson Hannigan, Mena Suvari, Tara Reid, and the whole crew will be back for another slice of pie when American Reunion opens on April 6th...
