1st look at Edgar Ramirez as Simon Bolivar in 'Libertador'
It was just a couple of months ago that we learned about Libertador, the largest independent South American film ever, fittingly about one of the most important figures in their history. Edgar Ramirez was tapped to play Simon Bolivar, the legendary political and military leader instrumental in his people's emancipation from the Spanish empire.
With production currently underway, we're getting our first look at Ramirez in the role, braving the cold as he fights for freedom. Alberto Arvelo Mendoza(A House with a View of the Sea) directs, but what's most exciting is the script comes from Timothy Sexton, who wrote the amazing screenplay for Children of Men. Danny Huston, Gary Lewis, Maria Valverde(Melissa P.), and Imanol Arias co-star.
