The Wachowskis in the mix to direct 'Justice League'?

Well, now that Ben Affleck's made it perfectly clear that he has nothing to do with any Justice League movie, the attention now goes to whoever else may be on Warner Bros. shortlist. While we don't everybody that's on it, Moviehole claims to know at least a couple of names on it: Andy and Lana Wachowski.

The Wachowskis have had a long and fruitful history with the studio, beginning of course with the lucrative and game-changing Matrix trilogy. It would make sense that Warner Bros. would want to turn to them in the hopes they could do something similar with Justice League, in order to distinguish themselves from what Marvel's doing. They're reportedly very happy with how Cloud Atlas has shaped up, also, and want the Wachowskis to make Justice League just as much of a spectacle.

It's unclear if The Wachowskis would even have time to fit in something like Justice League. They already have Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis, and possibly Joseph Gordon-Levitt for their brand new sci-fi film, Jupiter Ascending, which they have hopes of turning into a Matrix-sized trilogy. That's something they've been developing for awhile and I don't know if they'd be willing to set it aside. They do have some comic book experience having written the script and produced V for Vendetta.

We'll see what happens, but I'm curious to see who else is on that wishlist.
