Excellent new TV spot for Steven Spielberg's 'Lincoln'

While millions were busy watching last night's Presidential debate and wondering why President Obama looked half asleep(was it the Denver altitude, maybe?), Dreamworks was busy using it to launch the most impressive spot for Steven Spielberg's Lincoln yet.

Unlike the previous trailer, which largely focused on introducing us to the contentious America which Lincoln was struggling to unite, this one puts Daniel Day-Lewis' performance front and center. He looks in typical top form, passionate and charismatic as one would expect the legendary President to be. The footage begins with a brief montage of other arbiters of peace throughout history, and the message seems to be that Lincoln laid the groundwork for many of them. That's a point that I don't think any of us would argue. All in all, this is a vast improvement, and I'm more excited for Lincoln than ever before.

Lincoln opens on November 9th, before expanding into more theaters a week later....
