Tim Burton has to be feeling the love for Frankenweenie right now. There hasn't been this much excitement for one of his movies in ages, and the classic horror feel of the stop-motion animated film seems to have really connected with people. Maybe some of it has to do with Halloween being right around the corner, but I think there's a real yearning to see Burton do something that springs from his own demented mind again.
In keeping up the hype for Frankenweenie, a set of six new retro posters have been released, each paying homage to the golden age of monster movies. Suffice it to say, Sparky is not the only beloved pet to get reanimated, although the others are a lot more terrifying. Frankenweenie opens on October 5th and features the voices of Charlie Tahan, Winona Ryder, Martin Landau, Catherine O'Hara, Martin Short, and Christopher Lee.
