Many were thrown for a loop when we learned the Iron Patriot armor would be turning up in Iron Man 3. I was especially surprised, considering the armor was used by Norman "Green Goblin" Osborne in the comics and was part of one huge deception. It's slowly become apparent that the armor is being repurposed here as another version of War Machine, which makes sense considering James Rhodes(Don Cheadle) is a military man at heart.
With Robert Downey Jr. now recovered from his ankle injuries, filming on Iron Man 3 has picked up in Miami, and we're getting our best look at both Tony Stark's new armor and the Iron Patriot armor. Speculation continue to be that Stark will be jumping from the Mark VIII armor forward to the Mark XLVII armor which allows him to control dozens of drone armors in battle, but we'll have to wait for the movie to know for sure.
