The RZA won't be in 'Django Unchained' after all

The list of names that have dropped out of Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained would make for a damn impressive cast all on its own. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kevin Costner, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kurt Russell, Anthony LaPaglia, and now you can add his buddy RZA to the list.

RZA and Tarantino have worked together plenty in the past, and the director is even "presenting" his directorial debut The Man with the Iron Fists, so this comes a s surprise. ThePlaylist had a chance to speak with RZA and here's what he had to say on the subject....

RZA: "I'm not in 'Django Unchained.  "I gave my role up to a buddy. Can you believe that?"

As for who the "buddy" is, RZA says it's just someone who trained with him, which means it's not likely to be Raekwon or Method Man, folks. Also, those thinking there's some sort of beef between RZA and Tarantino can calm down, as he attributes his departure to being bogged down in the editing room. Makes sense to me.  The Man with the Iron Fists emerges on November 2nd, while Django Unchained hits theaters on December 25th.
