Mike Epps and Katt Williams saddle up for comedy western 'Blazin Four'
We all know Mike Epps can bring the funny, but lately he's been showing more of his dramatic side. Whether it was as the wise old uncle in Jumping the Broom, or the unlikeable comedian Satin Struthers in Sparkle, Epps has shown more versatility than anyone knew he had. But comedy still beckons, and now he's set set to star in the indie comedy, Blazin Four, alongside Katt Williams.
Described as a comedy western in the vein of Blazing Saddles, the film follows a quartet of gunslingers hired to protect a small town from Mexican bandits. Obviously, parallels to The Magnificent Seven are intentional, only this promises to be more silly than gritty. Epps plays Noah, a lowlife preacher seeking redemption. Williams is El Loco, the leader of the bandits who as a child was left on a Mexican family's doorstep and has no idea he is actually black.
John Luessenhop (Takers, Texas Chainsaw 3D) is producing and may take the helm. Epps will be seen next reprising his role as Black Doug in The Hangover Part III. Williams can unfortunately be found right now in Scary Movie 5. [Deadline]
