'Girls' star Allison Williams as Susan Storm in 'Fantastic Four'?

20th Century Fox may have recently lost the rights to Daredevil, but they aren't exactly hurting for Marvel heroes. They've got the market cornered on mutants with The Wolverine out this summer and X-men: Days of Future Past shooting right now. But they're also in the midst of a Fantastic Four reboot, to be led by Chronicle director Josh Trank, and it looks like some early names are starting to emerge as potential stars.

Allison Williams, best known for playing the seemingly perfect Marnie on HBO's Girls, is on the shortlist for the superhero film, likely in the role of Susan Storm aka Invisible Woman. Deadline says she's in the "very early talking stage" at this point, so we may be hearing about the other contenders before too long. Matthew Vaughn (X-men: First Class) is producing, with Seth Grahame-Smith (Dark Shadows) working on the script, so Fox is pulling out all of the stops to make sure this version of the FF fares better than the last.

But that's not all for Williams, who has also landed the title role in Rosaline, the long-developing modern version of Romeo & Juliet that has seen Saoirse Ronan and Lily Collins attached at various points. Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (500 Days of Summer) adapted Rebecca Serles' novel which is set in a modern high school, and is seen through the eyes of Rosaline, the unseen character Romeo loved before he met Juliet. Michael Sucsy (The Vow) will direct, with Shawn Levy serving as a producer.

While all of the Girls stars have gone on to establish themselves outside of the show, Williams may be the first (likely not the last) to make the move to a Hollywood blockbuster.  [Deadline]
