First Poster and Images from JFK Drama 'Parkland'

The upcoming ensemble drama Parkland has been billed as another film dealing with John F. Kennedy's assassination, but it's more about the events that immediately followed. Directed by Peter Landesman and featuring an impressive ensemble led by Zac Efron, Billy Bob Thornton, and Paul Giamatti, the film takes place during the chaos at the Parkland Hospital where Kennedy was taken after being shot. It's also where Jack Ruby and Lee Harvey Oswald died, so it was kind of a crazy day.

The first poster has been released, and thankfully a simple, tasteful design was chosen for it. It comes with a handful of images, a couple of them of Efron as one of the surgeons who operated on Kennedy. We also see Giamatti as Abraham Zapruder of the infamous "Zapruder Film", the only known footage of the assassination (and recreated brilliantly in Seinfeld here). Jeremy Strong looks hauntingly like Lee Harvey Oswald in his photo, while Thornton is a ringer for Forrest Sorrels, the Secret Service agent who was the first by Kennedy's side after the shooting.

Also starring Marcia Gay Harden, Tom Welling, Jacki Weaver, James Badge Dale, Jackie Earle Haley, Ron Livingston, Colin Hanks, Tom Welling, and David Harbour, Parkland will hit Venice and Toronto before opening later this year. Look out for the first trailer on Monday.
