First Trailer for Divorce Comedy 'A.C.O.D.' Starring Adam Scott, Jessica Alba, and Amy Poehler

In the little-seen indie comedy Friends with Kids, Adam Scott put on a leading man showcase in a film that brilliantly balanced humor with genuine insight on love and parenting. Now Scott is back again with an ensemble comedy that also shares a parenting thread, A.C.O.D., "Adult Children of Divorce".

The first A.C.O.D. trailer has been released, and with a supporting cast that includes Richard Jenkins, Catherine O'Hara, Jane Lynch, Jessica Alba, Clark Duke, Amy Poehler, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, it's no wonder the reviews out of Sundance were so positive. Scott plays Carter, a man who has been stuck in the middle of his warring, divorced parents practically all of his life. But when his brother gets engaged, Carter must reunite the family, turning to a therapist for support but only finding some unexpected surprises.

Divorce is rarely a funny subject, and the trick is going to be keeping the tone light while finding moments of real truth. The trailer suggests that writer/director Stu Zicherman has nailed it, but we'll see for sure when the film opens on October 4th.
