Kristen Wiig and Tunde Adebimpe Join Sebastian Silva's 'Nasy Baby'

Predicting what Chilean filmmaker Sebastian Silva will undertake next is probably a fool's errand, but what we know is that his movies aren't likely to be playing in the multiplex. After scoring a breakout indie hit The Maid, he followed it up this year with two unconventional genre films starring Michael Cera, the drug comedy Crystal Fairy and the psycho-horror Magic Magic. And now for his next film he's grabbed another A-lister for a fertility drama about a gay couple.

Silva will pull triple duty as writer, director, and star of Nasty Baby, with Kristen Wiig and and TV on the Radio frontman Tunde Adebimpe set to join him. Adebimpe is probably recognizable as the husband in Rachel Getting Married, but those who have followed his career likely have a soft spot for his leading role as George in the 2001 wedding comedy, Jump Tomorrow. Silva and Adebimpe will play a gay couple living in the multicultural hub of Fort Greene, Brooklyn. If she signs on, Wiig would play Anna, their best friend and the woman they intend to have a baby with, only to have difficulties arise when one's sperm isn't working and the other has to pick up the responsibility.

Alia Shawkat, Mark Margolis, Reg E. Cathey and Denis O'Hare are being sought for supporting roles. Hopefully all of the pieces come together because this sounds extremely promising. [TheWrap]
