New Trailer and Clips from Ridley Scott's 'The Counselor'
A sizzling, somewhat offbeat teaser for Ridley Scott's The Counselor lit up the Internet a few weeks ago and looked like nothing the director has done in ages. While he's certainly been spotty over the years, even fans of Prometheus have to admit his direction wasn't it's strong suit, it appears that teaming up with famed author Cormac McCarthy (No Country for Old Men) has lit a fire under him, and it probably doesn't hurt that the cast is ridiculously stacked. Easily one of the year's most anticipated films, a new full-length trailer and a handful of clips give us the deepest look at The Counselor yet.
Dark and gritty as Hell, McCarthy's first original screenplay looks like it will fit neatly into his revered crime canon. Michael Fassbender stars as a lawyer who enters the drug game to score some quick cash, but finds he's in way over his head and in bed with a dangerous group of characters. None more so than Reiner (Javier Bardem), his crazy-haired partner in a $20M drug deal, and Westray (Brad Pitt), who seems to have his own angle to play.
Co-starring Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Dean Norris, Rosie Perez, John Leguizamo, Natalie Dormer and Goran Visnjic, The Counselor opens on October 25th.
