Scared Yet? Two 'Paranormal Activity' Films Coming in 2014

So....been disturbed by the lack of Paranormal Activity 5 news? Halloween isn't that far away, and isn't that usually where the unquestioned horror king begins its annual box office dominance? Well, you haven't missed anything, because there's been no news on it, other than Paramount taking it off the 2013 calendar completely. Considering the films cost nothing and scare up some huge dollars, Paramount is going to make sure we get a double dose in 2014.

Shocktilyoudrop reports that Paranormal Activity 5 will return to its normal slot next year on October 24th. Although we were led to believe the film would be ready for this fall, there has never been any actual talent attached, and there still isn't even now.

Ok, then where is this second film coming from? A few months ago we heard plans of a Latino-themed spinoff, titled Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones. Teased at the end of Paranormal Activity 4, it comes from franchise producers Oren Peli, Jason Blum, and Christopher Landon. Now dated for January 3rd 2014, all we know about it is that it will carry a heavy Catholic influence and an all-Latino cast.

Horrors generally have a brief shelf life of profitability, and having two movies hit theaters in less than a year could burn out the franchise quicker than the producers think. Actually, I'm kind of hoping it does.
