'The Accountant' Adds Jon Bernthal; Christopher Lambert to 'Hail, Caesar!'

Somewhere along the way Jon Bernthal and Ben Affleck must have become pals. The former 'Walking Dead' star who just recently co-starred in Fury opposite Brad Pitt, is joining Affleck in The Accountant. Directed by Gavin O'Connor and seeking Anna Kendrick and JK Simmons for supporting roles, the film centers on a mild-mannered government accountant who moonlights as a lethal assassin. Affleck also wants Bernthal to join his crime flick, Live by Night, which he'll be directing once clear of his Batman v Superman duties. [TheWrap]

There can be only one!!! How many stories you think began like that when it was learned Highlander star Christopher Lambert would be joining the Coen Brothers' Hail, Caesar!? Lambert joins a growing and incredibly impressive cast that includes George Clooney, Jonah Hill, Josh Brolin, Channing Tatum, Tilda Swinton, Scarlet Johansson, Frances McDormand, and Ralph Fiennes in the story of a 1950s Hollywood fixer assigned to keep studio stars out of trouble. Lambert will play a married European filmmaker whose

scandalous affair with a young starlet (Johansson) becomes yet another headache for the studio." Hail, Caesar! opens February 5th 2016.

Highlander Reboot Lands 'Furious' Director

A few months ago we had reported on the script for the upcoming Highlander reboot, to be spearheaded over at Summit studios. Well now it appears the project continues to run smoothly as Fast and Furious director Justin Lin has officially signed on to helm the project. Highlander tells the story of a group of immortals, destined to engage in single combat against eachother until only one remains. The original Highlander was released in 1986 and starred Sean Connery(as a Spaniard!!!) and Christopher Lambert. Numerous sequels were released afterwards, including a long running TV show(which kicked ass).

Justin Lin is a good choice, as he's already shown he's got a knack for high octane action/adventure franchises. I still have some concern about the script, which seems to miss the point of what Highlander is supposed to be about, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now.
