Brolin Bets on Black...Men in Black that Is
It's been one helluva couple years for Josh Brolin. Starting with Grindhouse in '07, the former child star(The Goonies!) has been on a roll with major turns in W., Milk, and of course No Country for Old Men. Now it looks like he'll be trading in his dramatic chops for a chance to wear cool shades and fire laser guns. The LA Times is reporting that Brolin is up for a major part in the upcoming Men in Black 3. Brolin will definitely be sporting the suit 'n shades of an agent, identical to Agents K(Tommy Lee Jones) and J(Will Smith). But his role isn't exactly nailed down. He could be playing a younger version of Agent K, or he could be replacing him altogether. Will Smith is expected to reprise his role if his schedule allows it. Speaking of scheduling, that seems to be the biggest wrench in the works thus far, as Brolin's dance card is nearly booked up as well. Sony tentatively has shooting set to begin some time next year.
I'm no fan of the series, but I'm diggin' pretty much everything Brolin has been doing the last couple of years. The guy has made some interesting film choices, all of which have panned out. This, however, is the least intriguing of the bunch.
