Paranormal Activity 2 Finds it's Director

Funny how things work out. One of the most interesting aspects of Paranormal Activity's mammoth success last year was what it did to perennial Halloween box office champeen, the Saw franchise. Saw VI saw the lowest grosses of the franchise's history. There's only but so much room for successful horror films, and when they square off so directly, usually one tanks badly.

Ironic then, that Paramount has named Kevin Greutert to helm the sequel to the runaway hit. Why? Because Greutart was the man who directed Saw VI. D'oh. With Paranormal Activity 2 already set to be released on October 22nd, it'll square off yet again with the Jigsaw, and obviously Paramount is hoping for a similar outcome. Paranormal Activity went on to gross upwards of $140M worldwide on a budget rumored to be around $15,000.
