Captain America's Sidekick has been Found!

We sorta knew that once Chris Evans had signed on the dotted line to play Captain America that the rest of the film's pivotal roles would quickly start falling into place. That appears to be the case, as Deadline is reporting that Sebastian Stan(Gossip Girl) is close to signing on to play Bucky, Captain America's younger sidekick. Stan has been on a role of late, recently appearing in Hot Tub Time Machine. He was also featured in the 2005 film, The Covenant, about a group of male witches with superpowers.

I was kinda hoping they'd leave Bucky out of The First Avenger: Captain America. Not that I dislike the character, but I feel the same way about him that I do about Robin. It lightens the tone a little too much, and there's always something weird about sending a kid into wars and stuff. Then again, with this casting news it's looking like Marvel is planning on aging the character a little bit to make him more Cap's equal. This also makes me wonder if there's a plan to somehow turn Bucky evil. In the comics, Bucky was assumed dead for decades until it was revealed he was working as a brainwashed mercenary known as the Winter Soldier, who did battle with Captain America on more than one occasion before eventually overcoming his programming. Could a similar storyline be about to unfold here?
