Next James Bond Film on Indefinite Hiatus

MGM's financial difficulties have claimed another victim, this time the martini drinkin' superspy James Bond. Longtime Bond producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli announced that due to MGM's financial uncertainty, Bond 23 has been placed on indefinite hiatus. There is no set date for production to resume nor any set plans for a release date.

Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace star Daniel Craig was on record claiming a start date at the end of 2010, but those plans are clearly out the window at this point.

Sam Mendes(Jarhead) is still attached to direct, although one has to wonder if a lengthy delay will cause for further scheduling problems down the road for most of the principles. Daniel Craig has the high concept sci-fi western Cowboys & Aliens on the horizon.
