Stallone as the Dapper Don, John Gotti?

If TMZ is to be believed, and despite their reputation they don't usually put out flat falsehoods, Sylvester Stallone may be looking to play something other than a guy who beats people's brains or blows stuff up for a living. No, he wants to play the man who usually orders guys to beat people's brains in or blow stuff up. Sly is apparently interested in playing the former head of the Gambino Crime Family, John Gotti, in a biopic.

Sly has been in contact with John Gotti, Jr. about making the film about his infamous daddy, which leads me to believe that he'll direct as well. With the next Rambo film seemingly dead in the water, this could be his next move following The Expendables.

I kinda liked the idea of Sly finishing out his career using the characters he's nurtured for all these years, but if those movies have proven anything it's that he's got a lot of juice left. It'll be good to see him try other things, and to be honest he bears more than a little resemblance to Gotti. Or at least I can see the transformation not taking a whole lot of work.
