Lost scribe rewriting Alien prequel

Damon Lindelof is going a long way to get some distance from Lost. In fact, he's willing to go to outer space for it, as he's signed on to rewrite the script for Ridley Scott's upcoming Alien prequel. He'll be polishing the script presently being worked on by Jon Spaihts. It's Lindelof's first solo gig since the long running drama concluded earlier this year.

An inside source at 20th Century Fox says that Lindelof's meeting with studio execs turned up a wealth of ideas that may or may not lead to other stand alone sci-fi films in the future. Let's just hope they have an actual resolution and that all plotlines are tied up nice and neat. Thanks.  Lindelof is currently co-producing and assisting on the script for the sequel to JJ Abrams' Star Trek, due out June 29th 2012.
