Ridley Scott's Prometheus to feature 8-foot animatronic Space Jockey?

The rumors about Ridley Scott's Prometheus are all starting to bleed together for me. What started out as an Alien prequel was then flipped to a brand new sci-fi adventure with clear Alien thematic elements, referred to as "Alien DNA" by the director.  That was soon revealed to be more literal than figurative, as multple sources have noted that the film will mostly revolve around the origins of our interest in the species, with their DNA being a major story component. So far what's confirmable is the presence of Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, and Charlize Theron to the cast.
Everything else has been pure speculation. Fassbender himself has said that Prometheus will definitely have a connection to Alien, and we've heard rumors of the Space Jockey and the classic aliens appearing in the film. We've also heard stories of a giant head that will be piloting one of the space ships. Sky Movies has been at the forefront of a lot of this stuff, and now they've got even more details about the production.

A source reported to them that the Space Jockey, which we first saw as a corpse in Alien, is being created as an 8-foot animatronic. The source goes on to confirm the presence of the giant piloting head, which to me just sounds out of this world insane...

"I’ve had further confirmation that the Space Jockey creature is definitely in Prometheus and has been built as an eight foot animatronic.

"I’ve also had it confirmed that HR Giger is working on the project but only in an advisory capacity. By the way, people are going to be in for a shock when they sit down to watch Prometheus and there’s an enormous semi-human head piloting a spaceship."

I dig the idea of an animatronic as it should give the film a little touch of "old school" to it, rather than just having the whole thing done in CGI.  Otherwise I still wish this was a totally new, separate film with no ties to Alien. What say you? Are you excited for Prometheus? Or do you think the Alien franchise is one best left alone?
