For three of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies we got to see poor Dr. Curt Connors(played by Dylan Baker) with his one arm and paternal demeanor play mentor to Peter Parker. With each film we waited for his inevitable transformation into The Lizard, one of Spider-Man's most feared rivals. That change never came, but in Marc Webb's relaunch of the franchise Spidey's not just getting one Lizard to deal with but possibly a whole lot more.
Bigfanboy dropped the rumor over the weekend from an inside source on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man, revealing details on a crucial fight sequence to take place...
One of the primary important crew members (who shall remain nameless) recently let it slip to one of our readers (a trusted one at that) that many of the stunt actors in the film have been spending time in heavy make-up for hours on end because of a fight scene in the film where they’re turning all the S.W.A.T. team guys into reptilian creatures
This is clearly unsubstantiated at this point, but it makes some sense. Connors is a scientist, and it's not out of the realm of possibility that his experiment could be tested on others before being used on himself. Then again, Connors as a human is mostly a good guy, and probably wouldn't try it out on other people first. I think that could be where Irrfan Khan's character, Nels Van Adder, comes in. In the comics, Van Adder is a character who eventually transforms into the gruesome Proto-Goblin, but Khan himself says that the creature won't be appearing the movie. So is it possible that Van Adder might co-opt Connors' Lizard formula and use it for evil behind his back, before ultimately turning it against Connors himself?
Like I said, all rumor and speculation for now, but plausible.
