Sure Shots: Dark Shadows; Preacher; Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

* My boredom with Tim Burton/Johnny Depp movies continues, but there's been some significant additions to their upcoming flick, Dark Shadows.  With Depp already locked in as Barnabas Collins, now comes word that Michelle Pfeiffer is in talks to play his wife, Elizabeth Collins Stoddard.  She'll be joining Eva Green, Bella Heathcote, Jackie Earle Haley, and possibly Helena Bonham Carter. Dark Shadows is based on the 1960s supernatural soap opera.

* Haven't heard much lately about Preacher, the proposed adaptation of Garth Ennis' awesome and completely reckless comic. At one point Sam Mendes was signed to direct, then he bailed out, and last we heard some unknown director was in the running. Don't know whether that still stands, but the latest is that DJ Caruso is in talks for the gig, which he could win if I Am Number Four does well at the box office this week. For some reason I actually like Caruso for the Preacher gig. 

* I'm really diggin' the casting on Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. If only some of that mojo could work it's way over to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. >sigh<  Anyway, joining Benjamin Walker, Anthony Mackie, and Dominic Cooper in the historical horror will be Robin McLeavy. Who? Yeah, I don't really know her either. She'll be playing Honest Abe's future wife, Mary Todd. I don't know much her part in the story(I'm just about to start reading the book), but I hope she gets in on some of the action. She looks like she'd be pretty good at wielding a stake.
