Taylor Lautner and Michael Bay team up for new film; Hollywood explodes

This dovetails nicely into a story from a few weeks ago regarding the muscled up boy wonder, Taylor Lautner, and how he could buy a piece of my soul right now he's so rich. In that story it was noted that Michael Bay was seriously pursuing Lautner for a number of projects starting in 2012. The pairing of big money director Bay with the Top 10 highest earning actor was one that could potentially set Hollywood on fire. Somebody better get a fire hose.


Deadline is exclusively reporting that Bay and Lautner recently sent out a script to all the major Hollywood studios, with the end result likely to be an intense bidding war.  Written by Jason Hall(Spread), the film is described as "Mr. and Mrs. Smith meets Wanted", which to me sounds like a movie that should suck some serious ass, but there's no doubt it'd be an instant $100M grosser, possibly much more than that. The Jason Hall script gives me pause because Spread was only 50% of a good flick.

My first immediate thought is that if this succeeds and movie is bought for a pretty penny, expect this to be the first of many such tactics by Bay and Lautner. Second, since this is a "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" thing, I'm already thinking about what young starlet will be featured opposite him.  Expect the usual names to start being bandied about soon, even if the flick isn't going to begin shooting until next year.

And third, the more Taylor Lautner makes news the better I feel. I've come to the realization that just by writing his name in a story bounces our page views up significantly.  So without further ado....
