Samuel L. Jackson joins The Samaritan

Remember back when it appeared that Samuel L. Jackson was in like ten movies every single year? Homeboy was in everything, from big blockbusters to indie flicks to crappy B-movies. He's taken a few steps back over the last couple of years, probably due to being so intertwined with every single Marvel superhero flick on the slate.  He's still a very busy guy, and now he's lined up another project. He'll be starring in The Samaritan, from writer/director David Weaver.  The film was once working under the title, Lie Down with Darkness.

Described as a neo-noir thriller, the story is basically about an ex-grifter recently released from prison after serving a 20 year bid. He wants to move on with his life but his past keeps getting in the way. Weaver likens the film to other recent crime flicks like Sexy Beast and Memento.  That's some pretty tight company, my friend. 

Shooting begins this week in Toronto and Vancouver. The film also stars Luke Kirby(The Greatest Game Ever Played) and Ruth Negga(Colour Me Kubrick).
