Tops at the Box Office

1. Limitless- $19M
Bradley Cooper's first real starring gig looks to have been a winner, even if the opening numbers arent exactly earth shattering. Pushed by a heavy marketing campaign which painted the film as more of a corporate thriller featuring a throwdown between Cooper and Robert De Niro, Limitless opened to similar numbers as other comparable titles, like Wall Street 2. With Cooper's sex symbol status, I'm surprised only 52% of the paying audience was female.
2. Rango-  $15.3M/$92.6M
Down 39% but clearly on it's way to surpassing the $100M mark.
3. Battle: Los Angeles- $14.6M/$60.6M
Last week's champeen got blown out by a 59% drop off.

4. The Lincoln Lawyer- $13.4M
Maybe all the women who didn't attend Limitless went to see his fellow Hollywood hunk, Matthew McConaughey? In his first serious role in forever, his legal thriller made for his biggest dramatic opening in years, surpassing that of the most acclaimed comparable title, Michael Clayton.
5. Paul- $13.2M
Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz never got a national release comparable to this, so Paul is already the highest grossing domestic debut for the tandem of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.  As for star Seth Rogen, he's lent his voice to many films over the years, most recently 2009's Monsters vs. Aliens. Paul's opening doesn't come close to matching that one($59M).
6. Red Riding Hood- $7.25M/$26M
7. The Adjustment Bureau- $5.93M/$48.8M
You're killin' me, America. Go see this movie. Now. 
8. Mars Needs Moms- $5.32M/$15.4M
Heads are still rolling after this disaster.
9. Beastly- $3.26M/$22.2M
10. Hall Pass- $2.6M/$39.6M
