What's with all the Linda Lovelace....love? The "talented" star of the highest grossing and most famous pornographic film ever, Deep Throat, has two flicks about her in the works right now. The most well known, titled Inferno, used to have Lindsay Lohan in the Lovelace role. Perfect casting? Maybe. But with all of Lohan's off camera issues she was soon replaced by Malin Akerman. The core of any Lovelace story has to include her ex-husband/pimp/agent Chuck Traynor, who has been accused of making her have sex on camera at gunpoint. Who would want to play such a scumbag? Matt Dillon, apparently.
A minor blip in a story by Screendaily confirms Dillon's possible involvement, but doesn't reveal many details. Dillon is certainly a good fit, as he has a history of playing slimeballs.
On the flipside, the other as yet untitled Lovelace film has a starring combo of Kate Hudson and possibly James Franco. Based on that alone I know which one I'm more interested in. My guess is that one of these movies will end up not getting made, or one will land harmlessly in straight-to-DVD land.
Shooting on Inferno is set to begin in July.
